I have used Sam Harris automotive for a number of years now because I find them to be honest and trustworthy garage. They always keep you informed and I've never had any hidden costs, unlike some garages I've used in the past. 10 out of 10 from me and the ladies on the main reception do a fantastic job. Always a pleasure to deal with them.

On speaking to Alex about the diagnostics they offer I wanted to understand that if I pay £90 per hour that the diagnostics being done would get to the route of a issue, having already had a block test at another garage which I told Alex about, Alex advised me that they will be doing lots of in depth diagnostics and reassured me that the EGR system was something he would be doing diagnostics on especially as he said it was unlikely the head gasket, as I'd already had the block test I was convinced that it was the head gasket, however Alex said again he very much doubted it would be the head gasket and that these tests are unreliable, so reluctantly I booked my car in for a diagnostics with Alex after trusting what he said, but worrying that I could be wasting £90. I received there report and it literally told me nothing that I didn't already know, the head gasket, it turns out that the only diagnostics they did was a block test, a road test to check if the heater was working, I'd already told Alex it wasn't before booking it in, and a call to VW to see if there are any concerns with this model, which costs them 15 pound so essentially I'm none the wiser, but £90 out of pocket, I spoke with Sam on the phone about this and he was very argumentative, and insisted that the block tests are unreliable, I've since spoken to 6 other garages and they have all agreed that actually these tests are reliable they check for emissions in the coolant, they also informed me that there are only 2 possible reasons, a head gasket and EGR system, when I asked Alex what other reason would the liquid change from blue to green he said there could be many reasons hence why I booked my car in, it turns out that there aren't many reasons and paying 90 quid for another block test which told me the same thing as the previous test and given the same advice, head gasket, can't help feeling ripped off quite honestly would definitely not use this garage again.

Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of using this garage after my car going to other garages and being absolutely botched! These guys fixed my car and gave me feedback as and when I needed it. I really felt my car and me were in good hands ! Thank you Alex and Emma and the team!
